“A lighthouse in heavy fog”
Korg Microsampler midi triggering other synths: Microfreak through Microcosm pedal, MS2000R, Ambient Zero into Chroma Console, and Boss DR-770 Rhythm Machine.
Day 11
A basic loop with some improvisation on the Osmose, which is panned towards the left. There is a Lord Lead on the right side, from which I forgot to open the filter again after I started playing the Osmose. Other gear I used used: LXR-02, Uno Synth Pro X, DB-01, Minifreak, and mpc for sequencing the nord
Happy Sunday all. Here’s today’s JAM. Made with some samples from Hainbach’s Isolation Tapes and a cheeky Demon Souls sample near the end if you can spot it ![]()
Experimenting with a higher quality output from OBS on this vid, so I hope you enjoy the vibes…..
Made on a Roland S-1 into Logic Pro, with notes on an Arturia Minilab 3 in Arturia Pure Lofi, plus some wave sounds I had on my hard drive, and one of Logic’s own loops.
“12 bar minor house” is a completely new phrase according to Google.
Another OP-z one
today is the day. so time for fieldrecording. still electronic.
Day 11. A piano and cello composition, both urgent and calming at the same time. Feel the tension between the piano driving the tempo while the cello keeps on wanting to lay back and slow things down.
For the cello, I used one of samples from the new Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3 and was delightfully impressed with it’s expressiveness and sound.

An urgent situation, let’s see how this goes along with the good ol’ Rambo III game (level 2 - Rescue the hostage!!) on the good ol’ Sega Mega-Drive!
Synths used:
Sonicware Liven Megasynthesis
During the jam my wife asked me why not try to add game sound fx so I tried to see if you can turn off the in-game music but sadly as the sound fx and music go trough the same chip there aint no option for it (unless a game offers it) and none of the well known emulators seem to be able to do so.
Alternatively I could have sampled the sound effects and put them in manually but that would take at least 2 hours of extra work ;p
Still it triggered the idea of trying to find a game which suits the jam. Originally this level has 2 songs, one slow and one more action orientated (after you rescued the hostage).
As I still had time left I tried to write a variation but as I did not want to change the BPM I could not find a beat that would truly enhance the jam and the clock started ticking… but afterall, it sure is an idea to try for another jam ![]()
Another jam exploring the Deluge looper, layering using a foot switch. This is going to open so many possibilities!
Cool backing track and excellent Peter Gunn style lead synth.
