Another smooth jazz piece. This one featuring a cornet playing along with the jazz trio. I’ve had the chord progressions in mind for awhile and this was the perfect chance to use them.

I think I hit all the prompts on this one, except the score. Still trying to figure out how to use the score as inspiration or template.

Prompts used:
Mood: Meditative • BPM: 104 • Key: B Minor • Color: Magenta • Phrase: “A letter that was never sent”

Composed and recorded in Logic Pro.

First version was very Meditative but I had an urge to turn it into a :puzzle_piece:puzzle game music vibe because why not?

That’s Jamuary for me, I never know what I will write tomorrow <3

Synths used:

Sonicware Liven:
Ambient0
Evoke
Megasynthesis

Roland:

Here’s mine for today:

I’ve been trying to learn a new thing on the Deluge every day. Today it was creating Euclidian patterns.

There’s definitely something here but I started to rush towards the end… anyway, I tried to do more of a lead line on my bass for today’s vibe: Jan 4.mp3

@dreamindani this is really cool! A chill late night jam. I really enjoyed both the guitar and the bass lines, it’s lovely!

@beto Very meditative! Did you learn Euclidian maths?

I started at 104bpm per the prompt with what was supposed to be a bunch of percussion but an incident with the pitch shifter happened and we’re now in the land of robots. Pulsar, 2xDFAM, Subharmonicon.

Today’s jam was a collab!
Started on the Bento, then heavily tweaked in Ableton Live.

Tried to make a generative patch. Set the chords up on the Oxi one, and had the rest of the notes for bass and contra lead randomly triggered, but harmonized with where ever the chords were at the time. The rhythmic elements are mostly buried in the chord swells, but they punch through here and there. Randomized the drum model on Plaits (and most of the modulation inputs) and pushed it through a randomly leveled VCA.

Made with:

OXI one MK2, OP1, OP-XY, Ona, Plaits, Oxi Meta, Erica Synths Dual FX, and other modular utilities.

Lovely sequences. I imaging the Deluge is a very deep music maker. You could use it for almost anything… Beautiful and calming.

I couldn’t post this last night because I had unexplained crackling on the exported track, which I couldn’t resolve in time before I went to bed. It turned out to be a plugin which has never caused me issues before.

@Gubna so many notes, I really like how they build up and take over. Super relaxing in a strange way.

@Yuteimusic nice use of vocals in this one! It’s very ethereal and dreamy!

@lastkeymusic nice! Great arrangement on this one, I love that bassline on the intro, it’s warm and funky.

@RosaLiechtenstein this is so cool, and the tempo didn’t sound slow at all — it’s super energetic. I love it!

@elektronaut lovely guitar tones there! I like how it starts smooth and quiet but you can feel the drums and the crunchiness wanting to come in, like the calm before the storm.

@Ray-Marcher suuuuuper smooth, I love those pads! Such a nice atsmophere, with the rain sounds, the swells, and soft arpeggio. I really enjoyed listening to this one!

@FriendlyVisitor nice! Love the interpretation of the prompt, and this is such a cinematic song. Really chill and relaxing!

@sunblogger great atmosphere, I love how this song takes its time. Love those sad swells, the deep bass, the electric piano — everything is so good. A mix of Blade Runner with The Big Blue.

@Vidar nice, I really like when the kick comes in, it’s powerful. The OP-Z is such a perfect travel companion!

@banalytic so cool, this reminds me of the Atari Punk Console, but much more interesting!

@Soupoclap ohhh, this is gorgeous! I love the chords, the bassline, the mysterious percussion, the arpeggio that reminds me of a ticking clock. I really enjoyed listening!

@duckramp oh yeah, this is a fun cacophony of sounds! Really nice, and I love that video!

@DroneSinger beautiful! Love the smooth jazz, it feels like I’m in a diner in a new town starting a new life. Lovely!

Yeah! And in the next one I’ll explore non-euclidian spaces!
