Here’s my track for today. I followed the tempo and key, and I incorporated a toy piano sound rather than a music box. For the first time I was inspired by a small part of the graphic score (for the bass pattern).
It was a bit of a rush to finish it off, but it’s done.
Made With: OPXY, Keystep Pro, modular synth (Plaits lead and Ona bass) and fx (oxi meta, eric dual FX, disting EX tape loop)
I finally started integrating the new outboard mixer ( TX-6 ) and with the modular mixer (ES-9) to get FX sends between the modular and outboard gear. Still some to get my head around, but opening some new possibilities…
Well this definitely ended up being more ‘busted music box’ and less ‘triumphant calvary’. Majority of this was a patch on my Matriarch sequenced by Hapax with some midi effects.
Thanks a lot! This bass is made in Ableton Live using a 2-osc Wavetable patch (Complex Bitten + Basic FM Harmonics). I’m using two short envelopes to shape the low-pass filter, plus a slow LFO on the osc positions, pan, and FM amount to keep it moving. Poly is set to 5 voices with a bit of noise unison for width.
After that it goes into a short grain delay (slightly pitched down and synced to 8ths) and a 1/16 arpeggiator with a short gate. There’s also some master-bus processing to make it feel bigger and more spacious. Hope that helps!
