“Déjà vu in a new city”
Jamuary day 9
Stuck away from home with work so only have the iPad to mess with - stuck to the prompt for once. Hope you enjoy.
Modular and Medusa 90 BPM
Blue Lantern Modules Lunar OSC being triggered by Mutable Instruments Marbles (Pachinko clone)
Diode Operator Station Filter
Simple LFO (on the filter)
I had a clock on these from the EMW BPM set at 90 but honestly I have no idea if it was doing what I told it. Machines!
Mutable Grids (Blue Lantern clone) triggering Intellijel Plonk with a guitar sound pitched down to A with the pitch modified at random by Kilpatrick K4815 Pattern Generator, and into Chroma Console.
Then
Polyend/Dreadbox Medusa (into Hologram Microcosm pedal for fx and glitching) playing a random sequence with a root note of A.
BTW, speaking of Plonk….
I made a Plonk sample pack last year FREE to download if anyone is interested:

Just remembered I had a license for Arturia’s V Collection and installed the whole lot. Now going a bit mad with some of the classic synth presets. Got the autonomic beat down at 83 BPM this time. Not sure it’s really mysterious, but it’s in Ab Major Pentatonic. Hope you enjoy!
Busy, busy. Continue with today.
The mystery 83 BPM inspired me to some analog sound with Crave and Taiga as main parts. Simply.seqenced
I tried to make something that sounds mysterious by using the augmented 5th.
LXR-02, Bass Station 2 sequenced from MPC, DB-01, Uno Synth Pro X, Minifreak, Osmose → PF-3/X-time/X-Space/Deco/Slöer
In which Carf explores his own escape room and wired a handfull of synths to make single notes from each of them come to life on ways he could not imagine before.
Synths used:
Crave (hooked on FX pedal routed to line in to Ambient0)
Sonicware Liven Ambient0 (routed to line-in Evoke)
Sonicware Liven Evoke (with Grain FX on every single note ran through it)
Started Ab Major 83 BPM then went 166 BPM then 124.5 then back to 166 again
Enjoyed relaxing with the op-z and wind down for the weekend.
Quick little ditty today.
I feel really good about this one - the prompt was just perfect for where my head was at today. Finally got the guts to really sing on something: Jan 9.mp3
I’ve been busy with traveling and work this week, haven’t had time to listen and comment as much as I’d like. Or jam! ![]()
Wrote this one quickly on the Deluge and a walkman. The melody was written on the Deluge, recorded on cassette at 2X and then slowed down, and played against the original melody. Nothing fancy, but it’s fun to explore new workflows.
Day 9. For this piece, I worked on creating a sort of electric storm by using the Soma Ether to pick up electrical signals, recording them into the Fieldtone Weaver, then running through the Chase Bliss Mood II pedal to create samples which I then used to create two separate tracks. I then improvised a piano solo, along with a beat to finish the composition. Played in Ab minor instead of major.
Prompts used:
Mood: Mysterious · BPM: 83 · Key: Ab Minor · Color: Rose
Phrase: "“Déjà vu in a new city”
Recorded and mixed in Logic Pro.

Nice idea! Sounds a bit loopy/Frippertronicy like…
Lovely sounds and flow. I think you have got the prompt covered!
Made with: OPXY, OP1, Plaits, ONA, Erica Synths dual FX, Expert Sleepers Disting EX (granulator), oxi meta, oxi one mk2
Didn’t much time tonight, so went with something a little simpler, and it felt a little easier/quicker to arrive at something I liked…. maybe the mindset let me settle faster, or maybe less is more…
Great track Carf. I have a Crave but I haven’t jelled with it yet. Nice use of all your synths here, mission accomplished.
