What will you be using to make your jams during Jamuary 2026?
I’m planning to attempt to use every electronic instrument, and fx pedal I have over the month. Well, maybe not all the ios apps as that would stretch into February! The idea is just get out of my regular thing and use different set ups.
I have Deluge as a sequencer and drum machine, Digitone and Roland J6 are my presets machines and I just bought Behringer WASP, hope it will arrive before Jamuary.
I also got few fx pedals and electric wind instrument which I’m planning to use. I’m not a wind player, but it’s fun instrument to play with
I’m still figuring out what gear I plan on using throughout Jamuary… I have electric guitars, various synths, an electric cello, plenty of Chase Bliss pedals, and a couple eurorack cases… @Gubna I like your idea of using everything at some point throughout the month. I might try that, too!
@Yuteimusic a number? I have a few synths and samplers, only two are full keyboards, the Roland Fantom X6 being my main synth. The Microfreak, Korg MS2000r, some others. I’ll probably stick to electronic things mostly and but throw in some 100% acoustic jams.
@atam94 Yeah, I sold off some gear this year, but my thinking is this: if I’m not using it why keep it?
I definitely want to use my synth (Moog Grandmother) more this year! I usually fall back one of my tried and true guitars so it’ll be good to think about where a synth fits best.
Yeah it’s a pretty wild bunch, but every synth does have it’s own vibe and I really do purchase them as in what I think kind of sounds I am missing and could be great as an add-on.
It’s also handy for the tons of different genres I like to write
I’m also hoping to blend in the Music Thing Modular Workshop System and some cassette tapes (using walkmans and a 4-track recorder). And guitar? Who knows.
I am using the usual suspects (Teenage Engineering OP-XY, OP-1, OP-Z, and KO2), the Modular Rig (with a new FX module: OXI META), and the Keystep Pro.
New this year is the Teenage Engineering Riddim and Ting (hoping one of the days sticks out as an opportunity to use these DUB samples) and Tx-6 mixer. Also, starting to implement my new OXI ONE MK2 sequencer as the main brain.
If I have the time, I really want to refine the integration of the OXI one and TX-6 with the Expert Sleepers FH-2 and ES-9, really max out the cc controls for LFOs and Envelopes and the mixing matrix for FX sends. Would also love to make some progress on the Electrosmith Daisy Init module (I’ve starting working in PureData, trying to make an FX module similar to the microcosm)…
I made a sample-based eurorack instrument (sans-OSCs) for this year. Lots of sequencing, lots of filters, and lots of FXs! It’s basically my attempt at making my own Tonverk (so I won’t be tempted to buy one:)
(I also have a bunch of pedals, some 500 stuffs, a mixer, and a Rhodes)
Noteflight for writing the music (it’s what I’m accustomed to, anyway), Logic Pro X for practically everything (synth/instrument assignment, mixing, mastering, EQ), and Audacity for tweaking levels n making adjustments
